Appreciations
DONORS AND VOLUNTEERS
Giving and Service reside at the very core of what makes the Christine Center such a haven for transformation and renewal.
The Christine Center is at the service of those who seek peace, who seek God, who seek their truest self. All who come are honored guests. That spirit of service manifests in our dedicated staff, our work exchange/work study persons, our donors, our volunteers, and those who come for retreats and seminars. All of you help create the Christine Center experience.
Thank you to all who contribute your financial resources, your time, your material resources, and your good will and support to the Christine Center.
We pray for our donors and our volunteers daily, and open our hearts to you in gratitude for all you are and do.
CAPITAL CAMPAIGN APPRECIATIONS
The Christine Center this spring morning undulates with rapture, rejoicing in its transformation. Gratitude and thanksgiving sweeps into all its cracks and crevices as well as from all its solid structures. We iterate for all that is The Christine Center a huge Thank you!! Each and everyone of you and many more behind the scenes who sent prayers and encouragement for the success of the capital campaign. We, the Board of Directors and the staff of the Christine Center thank you for believing in our mission and in contributing to its vision.
We met here as a board this spring and saw the results of your efforts and contributions that renewed and sustains the life of the Christine Center. At that time we recognized with gratitude the Capital Campaign Committee for their creative and persevering efforts and fundraising projects that together with donors and volunteers accomplished this magnificent achievement.
In reviewing the work, here were events that kicked off the campaign and brought the final contributions home. Kickoff events for the campaign were held at homes of supportive friends in Waukesha, WI; in Boston, Massachusetts, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in Chippewa Falls, WI, in Marshfield, WI, in Wheaton, IL, and in Madison, WI. The campaign was also kicked off by the generous contributions of the Wheaton Franciscans, the LaCrosse Franciscans, and the Goldback Foundation.
The campaign was wrapped up with the Dr. Zorba Paster Event in Eau Claire supported by Sacred Heart and St. Joseph Hospitals with Becky Swanson heading up the organization of the event. This was followed by the final appeal letter that went out in November.
The generosity of our donors provided two additional hermitages, Guadalupe, donated by a dear friend, and Basil in Gaia Trust, donated by Gwen Hudetz.
Regular appeals kept the campaign before the broad community of retreatants. Projects garnered additional support along the way: raffles, silent auction, the sale of t-shirts donated by Mike Ward, candy and cards made by Sister Henrita and 1,000 Christine Center Cookbooks.
Retreats each summer were opportunities for presenters and retreatants to help with funding for the campaign.
Many people had a hand in donating toward the beautiful Mary of the Angels Chapel, and the new wing — too many to enumerate here. All the names are listed in the book of donors prominently displayed outside the Chapel.
Many individuals and organizations contributed in-kind furnishings and volunteer labor. The Wheaton Franciscan Hospitals donated and delivered significantly to furnishing the new wing.
Above all, individual donors responded generously to our requests with their support and financial assistance. We are deeply grateful for all the generosity and kindness given throughout the Capital Campaign.
