The Christine Center logo
The Christine Center logo honors our intention to be a sanctuary for spiritual deepening and global transformation in the lineage of St. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi.
For both of these Franciscan saints the cross of Christ represented the heart of the mystery of God – the intersection of the human and the divine, of matter and spirit, of life and death, of emptiness and fullness, of light and dark.
For us today the center cross represents our roots in the Catholic tradition, and the many individuals that represent the long line of Catholic contemplatives and mystics from whom we draw our inspiration.
Archetypically speaking, the cross also represents a cross-road, the turning point that many people discover on the spiritual path that forever changes their lives for the better.
In contemplative prayer there is often mention of the importance of a center, or of centering. The flowing lines represent the coming together in Christ of all things. They also suggest the many persons that have come together at the Christine Center for the purpose of spiritual growth and ongoing development.
Another interpretation of the flowing lines suggests that they represent the creative and transformative dimension of a search for spiritual deepening. They can also represent the many energies and graces that converge at the center and then flow out into the world to transform it in blessing. At the center, all is one.
