Our Mission
Dedicated to Individual and Global Spiritual Transformation, The Christine Center is a retreat center in the tradition of mystical spirituality and meditation /contemplation, embracing the diversity and essential unity of all spiritual traditions.
The tradition of mystical spirituality reaches into antiquity and across cultures. In Christianity, meditation and contemplation had early beginnings with the Essenes and Desert Fathers. Later, it was embraced by mystics like St. John of the Cross, St. Teresa of Avila, and Julian of Norwich. More recently it has been practiced and taught by Thomas Merton, William Johnston, and many others.
Similarly, the mystical tradition has a long and rooted history in Buddhist, Hindu, Taoist, Hasidic, Sufi, Native American, Celtic, and other indigenous traditions. The Christine Center programs and meditation practices are informed by all these traditions through cross cultural spirituality and transpersonal psychology
.
At this time, humanity is experiencing an awakening of the mystical tradition in a search for deeper spiritual realization. In harmony with this awakening, The Center is dedicated to individual and global spiritual transformation.
Mission Statement: The Christine Center, a Catholic retreat center for solitude, meditation, and contemplation, embraces persons of all spiritual paths, offers retreats and seminars for personal and transpersonal development, nurtures the Essential well-being for the individual through guidance and wholistic experiences, and emphasizes the wisdom, practice and unity of mystical spirituality for the promotion of individual and global transformation.
