Private Retreats

Take an opportunity to reconnect with what matters.
In today’s modern world there is sometimes little time to listen to the spirit within, to explore the inner life, and to experience anew, that all is indeed one.

When a person’s sincere intention is to nurture, to explore and to renew, a spiritual transformative process begins and leads the seeker to deeper understanding and greater insight. Taking the time to be alone, to be with God, and to be with nature is essential for our inner development. Just as food is essential to nourish the growth of the body, so quiet respite from the busy tempo of everyday life is essential to nourish the soul.

In many contemplative traditions, traditional meditative practice involves both quiet sitting meditation and contemplative activity. Whereas the sitting practice is more introverted and enables access to deep and expansive interior space, contemplative activity provides balance. It is also the way that we develop new spiritual habits. After all, this is the purpose of retreat, to bring the fruits of our spiritual work into actions of our everyday life. Be they Catholic, Jewish, Buddhist or of one of the other great religious traditions, all true contemplatives agree that a balance of quiet and of activity helps build a momentum through which one’s spiritual practice can evolve and develop.

At the Christine Center daily meditations, solitude, spiritual direction, bodywork, sauna and recreational activities are available to our guests.
Several kinds of retreats are available for those who wish to replenish their spirit. Hermitages (small cabins) in the forest are designed with the retreatant in mind. Times of solitude are ripe with opportunity for reflection, contemplation, nature walks, relaxation and honoring one’s own rhythms.

Individual Retreats
Private retreats for contemplation, creative pursuits or recreation are available for yourself alone, or to share with a friend, your spouse, or a small group of friends. Situated in your hermitage with bath and kitchenette, you can prepare your own meals or enjoy our delicious community meals. Or choose a guest house room with bath, select comfort mattress and skylight. You can also stay in a simple hermitage, with water in The Center nearby. Daily meditations, spiritual direction, nature walks, sauna and bodywork, are available. Rates vary depending upon accommodations chosen. Schedule a Private Retreat whenever you like, but a reservation is required.

Listed below are a variety of plans to meet the individual retreat needs:
