Black Latifa and the Power to BE
March 12-15, 2026
with Kara Vangen, Jim Lockridge, and Kathleen Graham
This retreat deepens our exploration of the Black Latifa—a subtle, luminous quality of our true nature that is peaceful, still, and powerful. In a world where power is often distorted by control, aggression, or hatred, opening to the Black Latifa reveals the luminous, quiet center of our being—where true power and stillness reside.
We all feel the pull of our usual way of being, and despite our wishes, efforts to find inner peace can turn into attempts to control our experience or the world around us. Yet what’s most real in us—our essential nature—is also powerful; by understanding and penetrating the barriers to it, we can learn to abide in the power of being itself.

Annual Spring Equinox Yoga, Meditation & Yoga Nidra Retreat
March 13-15, 2026
with Amie Heeter
Retreats are an invitation to intentionally dive deep, creating space that supports an opportunity for us to see inside and listen—an opportunity that nourishes us, guides us, and can fortify us for the months ahead. During this weekend retreat we will draw from the well of contemplative wisdom and yogic practices as the catalyst for this nourishment, and co-create a soul quenching weekend in community. Winter’s sustained dark and cold can leave energy reserves low, with an accumulation of inertia and lack of motivation; we will harness this seasonal transition of winter to spring and utilize tools to vitalize, clear, empower, and inspire.

There are not enough positive adjectives in the English language to describe the Christine Center itself. Kind, safe, cozy, trusting, loving, etc, etc. I always want to come back. Love meditation in the chapel with sister Johanna. The grounds feel so sacred and peaceful. I love to walk in the woods.
